DAY 12

This is what most advertisers do... Product Photography.

Sometimes it only takes one good shot of your product for the customers to like it and buy it.

Points to remember:

•  Lighting is the key

                 - 1 main light
                 - 1 fill light 

• Use mirrors, to make the product look good
• It should be sharp, and it should stand out
• Use a tripod
• Use Focus Stacking

What is Focus Stacking?

-  (also known as focal plane merging and z-stacking or focus blending) is a digital image processing technique which combines multiple images taken at different focus distances to give a resulting image with a greater depth of field  than any of the individual source images.

Example focus stacking. 1st and 2nd images where merged together to produce one beautiful photo!

"It is not easy, but it is exciting.", that is what Sir Rey told us. We are shooting this next week, Oct. 8 and I am very much excited. Now, I am thinking of the product I could use as my subject. any suggestion? ideas? c:

Camera manufacturers won’t tell you....

Sir Rey gave us a tip what could our camera do, he told us that these are the things camera manufacturers won't tell its customers, because if they'll know this, they won't buy their most expensive camera.

Focus and pay attention.

600D 700D 650D (P30,000-45,000)

Shoot at ISO 100, Raw (your photos will look like its shot from 7D, 6D, or 5D)

Digital Panorama

DAY 12

What's a Panorama? - I always thought it is my school back when I was in HS, because its name  is Panorama Montessori School. I also thought of the news publication 'Panorama'. How about you? what do you think? what is Panorama for you?

In photography, Panorama is a series of pictures representing a wide view. One panorama consists of 3 or more photos. The photos are combined to form one new photo, and the process is called stitching. 

What's stitching? - I know, I know, first thing that pops out of your mind is the needle, the thread, and the cloth to be sewed. HAHA! 

Stitching is the process of combining multiple photographic images with overlapping fields of view to produce a segmented panorama or high-resolution image. It is done through Adobe Photoshop or other stitching software. 

Try this in Photoshop:

1. Open photoshop
2. Click file
3. Chooes Automate
4. Then click Photomerge.
5. A window will appear, click browse and choose the photos you want to merge.
6. Choose the layout you want and then click OK

Notes to remember:

• Shoot at ISO 100
• Aperture should be at its half for best quality; f/16 for kit lens
• Overlap photos for about 20-50%
• Keep the images still
• Shoot portrait to capture more view
• Use the same setting for all photos to be merged

A Photoshoot

DAY 11

THIS IS IT!

Our grandest photoshoot ever!

We hired 2 models; Justin Joseph Aninias (male) & Acine Samiano (female)

We planned this photoshoot for one week ahead of time, there were misunderstandings, 
arguments, and commotions regarding our models, what they would wear, our call time on 
the day of the actual photoshoot, our theme, and most especially out "ambagan". 

But, despite all this, our photshoot still became a SUCCESS! I am proud to say that we were "organized", even our professor, Sir Rey mentioned it. 


TECHNIQUES:

- We had 2 set-ups of lights and backdrops. (one at the editing lab; one at the masscomm lab)

- Since we are more than 30, and we can't shoot all at the same time, we decided to group each other. Every batch has 3 members only.

- We had 2 batches simultaneously; while one is at the editing lab (where our male model is) the other group is shooting in the masscomm lab (where our female model is)

- Both batches had an allotted time of 10 min. before they switch places. 

- It became a rotation, what made it organized is that we already had the list of names grouped with each other written on the white board. 

- We also have our time keeper. They yell how many minutes they still have and when their time ends.

Stop Motion

DAY 10

We are now on to our final period. 

I already know my grade for the first half of this semester (midterm grade) and I can say that I am very very very very much satisfied with it. I do hope I could still manage to keep it up. *crossed-fingers*

What is Stop Motion?

          - It is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own.
          - It is a series of different pictures that appears to be moving.



*1 fps = 24 shots of pictures

*It could be tight - medium - wide shot


Things to consider:

• You should use your tripod. to avoid blur photos, and to keep the images still.

• Use manual exposure

• ISO should be 400 only

• Shutter Speed should be 1/30

• Aperture should depend on how shallow you want your photos be.
