I missed my blog so much! Now I am back for more!
I am currently 3rd year AB Communication Student and this semester I am loaded with too many subjects, -___-" but I know I can surpass all the challenges waiting for me, AJA! One of which is my photography class. I am not really a photographer at heart, but I am not closing my doors to learn. Especially now that I am inspired, not only because my boyfriend is an aspiring one, want to understand and relate on what he loves doing the most, but also, the one who's going to teach us is already an established photographer, Sir Rey Mendoza. (you might wanna check out his works at http://reymendoza.com/ ) This also gives me an opportunity to put my camera Canon 650D into use! It's been stock for months now.
PHOTO = DRAWING + GRAPHY = LIGHT
"Photography is Drawing of Light"
I am starting to do a blog again because I want my readers to also learn what my school teaches me. Uhm... Our very first topic is all about the Exposure Triangle; Shutter Speed - Aperture - ISO.
SHUTTER SPEED - controls the light. If you want sharper and clearer images (i.e. as used for sports) make the shutter speed fast (1/250), since its fast, less light enters your camera. If you want to illuminate darker places, you can make the shutter peed slow (1/60), more amount of light enters your camera, but you have to be really still when taking shots because if the subject is moving it will become blur, better use a tripod for sharper images The minimum shutter speed for a kit lens (18MM-55MM) is at 60th.
APERTURE - A hole in your lens. The higher the no. the smaller the hole is. The hole is referred as the entrance of light.
ISO - (International Standard Organization) It is the sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO, the brighter the image will become. So it is very useful when shooting in dim places. The standard ISO when you are outside, the the sun shines brightly is 800.
Here are some Digital Image File types:
J - Joint G - Graphic P - Portable
P - Photographic I - Interchange N - Network
E - Experts F - Format G - Graphics
G - Group
JPEG, can support up to 16M colors.
GIF, can support 256 colors.
PNG, can support transparency.
There are also 3 types of lenses:
Wide --------------- Normal --------------- Telephoto
10MM (Fish eye) 50MM 200MM
Next week I am very excited, we'll be going out on the field probably applying everything I've mentioned here. Good Luck to me! I hope my camera can do wonders!
